Work experience
  1. Design Lead, Platform at Swell Commerce
San Francisco, CA / July 2022–Present
At Swell, I lead the design team responsible for our merchant operational experiences. In my position as player-coach, I am responsible for the mentorship and coaching of junior designers to foster their growth and professional development. I also actively seek opportunities to improve the team's design and development processes. Working closely with executives, product managers, and engineers, I help shape and define our product strategy. I've taken on the important task of writing detailed documentation for design team projects that is used by all teams in the company to inform themselves and our customers of upcoming improvements and features.

Playing a critical role in Swell's product consistency efforts, I build and maintain our extensive component library, facilitating accelerated project delivery while maintaining a high standard of quality. I also contribute to the development of the merchant platform by writing React components, standard CSS, and Tailwind.

    San Francisco, CA / July 2021–July 2022
I spearheaded the design strategy and execution for a number of high-impact projects such as Subscriptions,  Purchase links and Advanced user permissions. Recognizing the need for consistency and efficiency, I established a comprehensive component library for common Swell functions, streamlining project delivery and promoting design cohesion. By delving into React JSX, components, props, conditionals, objects, and API interactions, I was able to communicate novel design concepts in a format closer to the final product.

I played a pivotal role in planning, strategizing, and scoping new product features, ensuring alignment with market demands and company objectives. I was also responsible for conducting extensive user research and usability testing to gather valuable insights and validate design decisions for new and existing features.

Within the first 90 days of its launch, we successfully processed over 300,000 events.

Additionally, I contributed to and maintained PagerDuty's component libraries, ensuring design consistency and efficiency across projects. As an advocate for effective design tooling, I initiated procurement efforts to make sure the team had the right tools do do their jobs effectively.
